This week I got a bit behind in my thankfulness posting. This year has been full of challenges for our family but I still have a lot to be thankful for -- like this project. Some days I really had to think -- much harder than I feel I should have -- about what I was thankful for. On those droopy diaper days when I just wanted to pull the covers over my head and bury myself in bed, I found it very helpful to focus on being thankful. Being thankful has helped me march ahead with a realization that things "really aren't so bad." Hope you had a good month too!
I am thankful for my entire family, but especially thankful today for my mother and my sister. They both have consistently been a part of my life. I know that I can count on them no matter what. We don't have to agree about everything -- but heck, that's what makes us unique. Thanks!
I'm thankful that my cousin in TX, who I hadn't heard from in eons contact me out of the blue. It was a nice surprise. I'm sure it wasn't easy after all this time, but I'm glad he did. I'm looking forward to getting to know him again and his family -- with the help of the Internet.
Tonight I am so thankful for the positive attitude of my Oncologist, his entire staff, and the people who get treatment there. They make everything seem possible -- and I know with the right attitude it is! It's so good to have such happy people around.
I am so thankful that my dad installed a ceiling fan in my office last spring. Man I don't think I'd have made it through this summer without it. My office faces the west and even now it's 79 in here. Ahhh... but that nice fan breeze!
I am thankful that we are able to pay our bills and live comfortably. It's very scary to talk with people who have lost everything over the past year knowing how easily it could be us. I'm happy that we are able to keep our heads above water. Even if some days we are dog paddling!
Today, I am so thankful that i live in a small town. We had to travel to Tampa today. I saw more cars in one day than I normally do in a week. Whew! I like the slower pace, friendly people, and open spaces.
I'm thankful for my dishwasher. I do so love to cook, but I really dislike hand-washing dishes. (I don't feel they get as clean as they do in the dishwasher. I know my hands can't stand dishwasher HOT water -- even with gloves.) So the dishwasher enables me to fix great meals without the pain of cleaning up. <G>
