Family Search - Genealogy

For as long as I can remember, I've been curious about my family's heritage and our "story." I'm in the middle of writing a family history book and have found a lot of great resources that are too good not to share. So here goes a new category -- Genealogy.

My favorite site of all time is FamilySearch.org.  They have a huge collection of billions of names from all over the world. You can search US Census records, public records, and more! Another feature of the site is the ability to create a Family Tree. You can attach records, notes, and add photos to your tree. One important note about the Family Tree feature is that anyone can make a change / update your information. Personally, I'm a little frustrated by this so I don't actually keep my tree on their site.

Oh yes, did I forget to mention that it's all free! Yep, that right, no charges whatsoever. The site's primary benefactor is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
