Their service delivers magazines to you via the Internet. Zinio delivers the same magazine – including layout, text, and yes even advertising – as the print version. You can even search the magazine, highlight text, and create electronic notes.
I love magazines but really feel overwhelmed when I look at the heap of magazines piling up in the corner of my office. Most of them have one or two articles I’ve been “meaning” to read. Zinio.com was one of my best discoveries for 2005.
Some of my favorite gift giving sites this year included…
I found a lot of unique gifts in Potpourri’s online catalogue
The seafood spread from Swiss Colony was a hit with seafood lovers!
One of my favorite gifts was a box of pears from Harry and David. If you’ve never tasted their delicious pears, go order yourself a box now. (Yes, I know they’re a bit pricey, but well worth it!)
Over at LuxuryClues, the Holiday Gift Hunt is ON! Bernice Ross is in search of the coolest holiday gifts for the luxury client. There will be two categories: One that a real estate agent would buy to give their best client at closing or at the holidays and one that the ultra rich would buy for themselves. Be sure to take a look at the interesting gifts that have been posted and leave a suggestion of your own.
...Delicious, Fresh (and Kosher too!) Brownies from Brownies.com
...Any chocolates or truffles from Joseph Schmidt are well received, but the Mosiacs are true works of art.
...In addition to delicious candies See's Candies has a great assortment of nuts and chews (they also have an assortment of Kosher offerings)
...Especially for children or any popcorn lover are the gift barrels from The Popcorn Factory
My family really enjoys movies, but I’m not fond of driving to the rental store to pick them up – that’s assuming that the movie we want is in stock. A few years ago, I decided to try Netflix.com and found their service to be great. We watch about 2 movies a week and it’s soooo convenient to get them delivered right to your front door.
One of my favorite places to order flowers is from Proflowers.com. There are a lot of really good florists, but the presentation from ProFlowers.com never fails to impress the recipient.
They are delivered in a long flower box -- it's hard not to feel special when the courier hands you the box. Inside, the flowers (in all stages of bloom) are packed in ice packs which makes it possible to send exquisite flowers even in the middle of summer.
Only one time did I have a problem with delivery -- the courier company lost the box -- and the customer service from ProFlowers.com was great! They cheerfully (and without hesitation) sent a replacement.
